The seasons of my life
Have led to a day
Where my heart is rife
With many words to pray.
Coloured leaves now fall
Leaves of thankfulness,
For Jesus gift of all,
And how I’ve been blessed.
My cup runneth over.
My spirits renewed.
God is man’s lover
Too great to be viewed.
What can I return
For God’s grace to me?
What can I learn
From seasons that flee?
My life is my thank you,
To Your many gifts.
I give my life to you,
And my soul You will lift.
After Fall is Winter,
After Winter, Spring.
But all year long
Is time for Thanksgiving.
Much more than me.
Not in myself
Not from myself.
Surely it is because God fills my cup.
Surely it overflows.
I want my heart to be deep,
So, from heavy depths
With significance
I can praise my God.
From deep within,
LORD hear my praise.
From sounded depth,
Praise you for the
Grace that you made,
The cup,
And like a torrential rain
Filled me to
Bubbling over.
I considered blessings of life,
And why I should give thanks,
And I had this thought—
If all my days were strife,
And all God’s gifts went blank,
Would all be for naught?
Not, if yet, I gained Christ,
And everlasting life.
Life is more than breath and beat.
There is more than living physically.
Existing forever without God,
Really is a curse to be trod.
But to live is Christ!
And to be with Him is Life!
It is the blessing of Highest Rank,
And to this, my God, I give my deepest thanks..
The stars above
Are so tall
It makes me feel
Very small.
The canopy of the sky
Is so high
I know one reason why.
God is so great
He is silently saying,
It is praise
I should be praying.
God knew the exact
Situation I am in
billions of years ago.
He knew the decision
I must make.
He is rooting for me to take
The right way.
He was then,
And He is now.
He knows the outcome.
He did then,
And He does now.
This is too great for me.
It is Gods perspective.
What I know is
The Good Shepherd
Put me on His shoulders
And rejoiced.
I rejoice—
And this is my perspective.
I forget to know my place.
If it weren’t for grace,
I was destined for Hell.
As it is,
God is bliss,
And Good News to tell.
Jesus bent His will to God.
“Not My will, but Thine.”
There is no equal strength wrought,
Than His self-sacrifice divine.
I have my second chance,
Made of billions of pardons,
Made possible by His stance,
The blood of God’s Lamb the bargain.
My ungrateful heart is not worthy,
My hard heart too insensitive,
The life I live too worldly,
My daily course not penitent.
Yet I pray, “God help me.
Turn my heart to Your will.
To place my feet where I see
Where you walked and walk still.”
The greatest thanksgiving I could give to my Lord,
Is to bend my will to His,
To live my life by His Word,
And lay it down for my friends.
Look to the Lord’s lead,
He is my husband.
I am a mere man.
Pride and passion blindly pushing.
Foolishness—all of it!
Commit to the care of the Lord’s lead.
A hawk whooshed by my windshield.
What a creature.
What a Creator,
Who, with highest mastery
Highest genius
An Author with a pen
A Painter with a brush
And palette
Birthed a beautiful hawk.
It compels raised hands
Like aquiline wings
To raise praise.
Heaven.
What can I compare it to?
Or to what contrast?
This world is never so fair,
Nor does the hell of this world last.
Not like real hell,
Which is forever.
Which makes heaven
Ever better.
I thank Jesus Christ,
That this world’s hell
Is the hell I will face,
And tomorrow’s world’s heaven.
Is the crown height of eternal grace.
You reap what you sow.
But that’s not all negative.
God will judge us below,
But He gives to those who give.
Counter-logic to the World’s way
God’s children lay up for Harvest Day.
Faith is like Jesus walking on water.
It shouldn’t have held Him up, but it did.
LORD, let my faith grow
More and more.
Like a fledgling in the nest.
Let me test my wings.
Let me brave the air.
And be borne by courage and upheld by You.
Let me stretch my wings and fly with pinions of faith.
And soar the heavens as I was meant to.
And soar to the heavens to love You.
Give me zeal.
Ardent, burning love.
Not to be lukewarm.
Give me appeal.
Focus my eyes above.
Not to be forlorn.
Thrill and enthrall.
Entice and draw.
Do what you must.
Lure wanderlust.
So my heart climbs
Until you are mine.
And then ceasing my hike,
Zeal and love, in a new light,
Will have just begun...
The blue of my heart
Sees the red of a spark.
Then rises a coral sun.
A dawn of violet begun,
Lighting a living green.
I see His purple majesty.
I project a rainbow of praise
Inspired by the Ancient of Days!
A babe is born.
Newness of life.
No past, all future.
A ray of light.
From origin onward.
So it is for a babe.
So it is when we
Wake to eternity.
Future forever,
And all bliss
Because a babe
Was born.
Hallelujah!
I heard about a guy named Appleseed.
He went around planting apple trees.
I don’t know his reasons why,
But I think he’s my kind of guy.
I think I’ll pause and take a cue;
“Hey Christian, this could be you.”
I’ve read some of God’s Word,
But there are some who haven’t heard.
LORD, let me sow some seeds of grace,
Then see your tree, and touch Your face.
A wonder God is with me!
Separate, I would not be.
Alone and blind, and lost,
No hope, no home,
No salvation for any cost,
But as it is,
He shares what is His!
My essence enraptured with Thee—
A wonder you are with me!
Wrestling and wrangling with darkness,
Light burst through.
Never to compromise.
Piercing and illuminating,
Penetrating, conquering.
Shining like only God could--
Like only God can.
Light!
Shine!
She matters
She is a soul
She is more than
Matter
Mass
Volume
She is a being
Made in the image of God
She has mind, heart, soul, strength
To Love
Do atoms love?
She is invaluable
Precious
More to be treasured than the planet earth—if without souls
What is the value of all
Gold
Diamonds
Mountains of treasure
If alone?
Spiral out to galaxies
Clusters of cold neighbors
Stretch out who knows how far
Did Christ die for soulless stars?
He died for her
She matters
She is a soul.
You thrill my heart.
I want to declare
Something new.
Are their new emotions?
Can I feel something
Not felt before?
Maybe it is a level of ecstasy.
In my life I’ve never been
Here before.
That makes it new.
I want to be
A man after Your own heart.
I do know this,
You are a God after mine.
The vast blue heaven.
The sea-green sea.
God spread it all
For you, for me.
The far, sparkling, star
Marks the stretch.
The One who made it
Is greater yet.
Blind and shortsighted,
Lost in my way.
He brought me back
When I was astray.
Now with wonder,
Now new I perceive.
The vast blue heaven,
The sea-green sea.
Lord, I wander
I have delighted
In You, first in my heart,
And then I wander.
Let that be less and less
And let me be
Enthralled more and more.
Until my heart
Loves like I want—
Like you want—
And delight is constant.
It takes You.
This sheep needs shepherding.
Praise you Good Shepherd,
And my friend.
My birthday came on Good Friday this year,
And a thought in my mind became clear.
My birth began when Christ died.
Even more on Easter, I became alive!
